Adjusting carbs inside the ski....

So I'll be taking my ski out this Friday and will likely need to adjust my carbs. Given the location of the low speed adjusters not sure if it follows the simple righty tightly/lefty loosey. Basically what I'm asking if I'm looking down at the carbs on the exhaust side of the ski would I turn the adjuster towards the mag or the PTO side to richen the mixture?

It would be CCW, so toward the PTO to richen, if your set at factory settings it shouldn't need much, maybe 1/4 turn either way. I know I fiddled with mine and I wound back at factory settings.

Awesome! Yeah I set mine dead on this time. I had them a little rich last time. Doubt it contributed to my bogging issue. Not sure what that could be, but at this point I'm hoping I can eliminate the carbs being the issue. I'll try the primer if it starts to bog when cold and if it clears up I know it's lean.

I am. I set my carbs to the settings spelled out for me for my setup. Previously I had them rich both high and low. So I'm going to start out exactly on and not rich.

When are we going to convince you to go back to stock suke? So you can just set it and forget it and not worry about that extra .5 mph you might be gaining! Lol. I have an airbox here ready to ship to ya!

lol mine came with fa's, Guy's here convinced me to switch


one trick for adjusting the low speed screws is:

Before installing them get some 1/4 fuel line about 3 inch's long and slit one end about 1/2 inch. Then put that on the low speed screw over the T handle part and then use a zip tie to hold it in place.

Makes it much easier to get under there and do the adjustment. Stock setting worked for mine too after going all over the place
If it doesn't work, that might point to an issue somewhere else.

If this doesn't work then it'll certainly point to it not being a Carb issue and I'll move on.
