Are there gauge set ups available for the 1996 SPI? For instance, tach or speedometer or both. That would really help me tune the engine. Could I use some of the instrumentation from the other models like the SPX?

I've seen someone swap the hoods from an xp to an sp, which I'm sure you can get the GPS speedometer and connect the fuel gauge so you have fuel and speed, but I'm not sure about any other gauges
As luck would have it... I am picking up some skis this week a 96XP for parts and such. I even joked with my wife about putting the XP hood on the SPI. A tach would be something of interest to me. Thanks for the response !!
I need something to tell me when performance is deteriorating or getting improving. I need a tach. I would think if the other models have a tach the SPI must have wiring for it. My wife clocked me with the GTX and the SPI is way faster now with the fuel and wear ring work. At least she could no longer just "blow by me".
Man I got a whole extra hood with mirrors and gauges off a 96 XP. Thinking about painting the up and using it on eh SPI.... that is on the back burner now that I got the X4's to work on.
Anything can be done as far as gauges go but as Midi says they are not going to help you much. The original speedos are broken from new by design. They want you thinking your going faster then you are. we call it the "Dream-O-meter". If you have the Candoo mod then they are GPS accurate.
A 96XP has no tach and even if it did it would be hard to tune with. Tiny Tach makes a great product. These work also and are cheaper and easier to install...... Trail Tech 742-A00 TTO Tach/Hour Meter - Black | eBay
