So I got a 97 XP and ever since I bought it it hasn't ran right. I took it to my local dealer and they cleaned the carbs and said would need a new accelerator pump. Now when I started it at home on the hose it would idle fine. When i get it dropped in the water it doesnt want to start it will sit and crank and crank and finally go. Once it turns over it is really slugish and choppy. Having to hold the throttle wide open to barely get anywhere then all of a sudden it has all the power and runs fine at high speeds. It will run all day at high and low speeds till you turn it off. It wont start back up and if it does decide to crank over it wont stay running. What should i do? accelerator pump assembly is 300$. I dont know if i can get by without getting the whole assembly. If so, how and what do I do to find out exactly what parts i need to get.
