99 sportster 1800 help!

Need help ASAP! 99 seadoo sportster. Should wires coming from stair be hot (12v) when battery hooked up? Port side engine having probs.. can’t get spark

No. Hot means there’s too much resistance from a bad cable, starter or connections.

To much resistance?? And I meant stator... lol sorry I saw my typo. What would be me next step? I removed engine again last night and removed magneto. Then checked the stator with a meter. Continuity... and ground was good and the three coils checked out ok... the three coils had continuity
