I have a 99 Speedster with the twin 787 engines. The problem is with the port side engine. The starter will engage but there isnt enough power to turn the engine over. If i remove the spark plugs the engine will turn over just fine using the starter so the engine isnt locked. The starboard side engine will start up just fine but when trying to start the port side engine the starter will engage and the starboard engine will die. So im not sure if the starter is just weak and needs replaced or should I check the battery?
Thanks for the help. :)

You could try swapping starters to see if problem follows. Not easiest thing to do but that is what I did. Problem followed so now I'm in search of starter.

Of course this is after you verify batteries fully charged.

figured it out... ended up being the starter was weak so I removed it from the engine and took it apart to clean it. I sanded down the contacts with very fine sand paper and cleaned it out. Put it back on the motor and it seems to start fine now. Thanks for the help.
