99 gtx limited - running "ok" then just died. MPEM? Lanyard?

Was rinding along and ski stopped. Went to restart and got 2 beeps then a beep each time I pressed the start button, I get a beep, but nothing else. The clock reset...when I do the advanced diags, it gives 2 short beeps? Magnet bad? But I get the 2 short beeps when I put the lanyard on...indicating good? Very confused....

Yes. Two beeps means mpem recognizes the key and ignition is activated awaiting the start.

My guess is you have an exhaust leak in the engine compartment, asphyxiating the engine.

It turned out to be the battery cable rusty...at least for starting. Have not tested on the water yet.

Yep... I was going to say low battery. the single beep when trying to start is an MPEM reset.
