When I put lanyard on post i don't get the beeps that you should. How do I get the handlebar pad off to get to the buzzer? Thanks in advance

You may have corrosive film in lanyard cap, use a pencil eraser to clean it & post.
Ground the temp sensor cap wire to a clean headbolt, it should buzz. (lanyard on)
You can buy a buzzer at radio shack for ten buks and mount it under consol, tap
onto the buzzer wire that goes up the steering column.
