98 xp 951 put in the key two beeps press that start button one beep won't try to roll over at all. Bilge turns on no response from the motor

Tried both keys just a short beep when you pressed the start button

Now put key on two beeps press the start button nothing happens 3 fuses on main board battery and mpem are fine bilge works it just will not try to start. Was running great 4 days ago

Battery is brand new and 100% charged

Please help

Thanks

Took apart the handle bars start switch seems to be fine without the key in if you press the button the bilge spins up...

To me that would indicate the switch is working fine.

Remove plugs pistons move so the motor is not seized can someone help me find the starter?

That's all I can think ofimage.jpg

Jump across the solenoid with a screwdriver. Try this first and let us know if the motor turns over.

Are you 100% sure on the battery condition. I know you say it's new, but have you had it load tested

Yes 100% sure literally it's two days old and was on a battery tender before I tried starting it. Starts my quad no problem. It's a 700.

The solenoid in the mpem box correct? From one post to the other on the electrical connections.? ( ill try as soon as I get home)

Yes, from post to post. Use a larger flat head screwdriver.
I'm not too familiar with the 98 xp, but should be in the rear electrical box

Very new to skis and bombers not the mpem. Understood. Where els would
I find fuses? I have only found 3 mpem/vts/batt

What's the grey box attached to the front? Vts board? Bilge board?

ON your ski there should be an ecu with 3 plugs and a lot of wires going into it. It should have a fuse panel on it. Its a snap on cover, open it and check all fuses.
Post picture of grey box. Not sure which one you're talking about.

Fuses are fine except vts but that's irrelevant it has been out from the start but there is no bilge fuse or starter fuse that I seeimage.jpgimage.jpg

Lets take a step back to the beginning. Normally one beep when the button is pressed means low battery voltage. Then you said you did it again and it did nothing but you got two beeps. That could be the starter solenoid so jump the solenoid in the black box (two red wires) then report back here with results and we will vo from there.

Point goes to the new guy, dess post or key issue.

Although a DESS issue usually results in one long beep.

Unless its recognizing it at first, then losing the signal before the start button is pressed

Alright let me rephrase that single beep only happened three times

Put the key in two short beeps to let me know the key is correct, ( tried both keys with same response two short beeps) after the two short beeps you hear the bilge pump engage and spool up. When the bilge realizes there is no water it turns off as it should. Pressing the start button and there are no click pops no solenoid fires. Just silence. About 5-10 seconds later the pump spools up a second time then the seadoo shuts down.

The vts gauge fuel gauge and oil light all work as normal when the key is put in.

Arc the solenoid in the "e-box" and the seadoo rolls over perfectly. (Didn't get it stated because I didn't have sufficient water going at the time just tested the arc

Do you normally turn the water on before starting it ?? Please don't do that .

And I hope your not running that water without the engine running. If so, you have a whole new set of problems now

Usually I would start the ski then turn the water on until there is only A bit coming out the little hose on the side of the hull what would running water through it do if it was not turned on? I did that one time about a month ago when I first got it like I said did it once now I start it then turn the water on slow I till it lightly comes from the hole in the front left it was just in my garage and I had zero water hooked up so I didn't want to start it fully

If the ski is off and I press the power button the gauges come
On and the bilge engages then spools down after about 20 seconds
The ski shuts back down gauges and bilge does a last spool before
Powering down

Just for giggles if you say you're getting the correct two beeps but nothing happens when you press the button, take the start stop button out of the housing and connect the two wires together, bypassing the switch.
