Took my 98 XP limited out for the first time yesterday. First impression: Dam it is like a rocket. Second is that it is a bear to ride two up. Would a shorter seat suspension shock help lower the seat to help lower the center of gravity? Would like to take my kids out with me but we tried yesterday and had a hard time staying upright. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't bother with the shock. That ski will always be unstable and difficult to ride with two people. It is just part of the design and the reason it handles so good. You will either get better with practice or should look for a different ski for the family. My 6 year old rides with either my wife or myself on our 01' XP with no issues and I am 6'3" 200lbs.

+1 on a family jetski

XPL has always been a one person PWC. I'm the original owner since 1998 and it always been a 1 person ride. Getting one person to get on in the water is tricky enough without practice and technique. To think another trying to ride is almost impossible. Also, forget about it if you still carrying extra weight from the holidays turkey, candy, and pies.

Which is why I'm shopping for a family one and I found 1998 GSX limited that I have been hovering around and might pull the trigger on.

The shocks will eventually ware out anyways and you will have to either shop for used or cancel the whole thing by setting it on locked (all the way down)

I read earlier that locking the suspecting improves stability on them. Still reading about it to decide on it.
