98 XP Limited idol out of the water seems high

2800-3000 rpm on the trailer. Just bought the thing and test drove it and the idol seemed good, maybe I was excited. Does the idol come down while in the water?

Yes your idle will go down when you put it in the water. I believe most idle at 3000 on trailer and 1500 in water. I could be wrong about those numbers though.

Those numbers are good mine does 3200 on trailer n 1500 in water.
