Hey everybody just trying to get some fresh ideas what to check, front cylinder 140, rear pto 129PSI, rebuild the carbs, replaced the fuel lines, replaced cracked top exhaust pipe, it's a hard start, and runs bad when running, when I remove the spark plug wire from the front cylinder, almost impossible to run on, will run on rear cylinder, notice oil leaking around the base gasket. I replaced spark plugs, the spark looks strong on both plugs, sprayed carb cleaner to get engine started. Possible issues that I'm thinking to check, leak in fuel line or filter cup, leaky cylinder base gasket, reed valves, dirty rave valves, always looking for fresh ideas. Thanks.

First off something is wrong as a 951 should have 130 psi for perfect compression, it could be your gauge reading high but the bigger issue is they are 11 psi apart. Anything over 5 is a problem. Also with the leaking base gasket you could have an air leak. You are going to have to pull the head and cylinder to see what is going wrong. I would stop trying to run it or you might do further damage.

How many hours on the ski?
