Just curious why you don't just put the old flywheel on the new engine and be done with it.

Thats what im getting ready to do, just agrevated to have to get in there again. Im gonna do it though and hopefully thatl be the end of this saga. Looks like the bottom end thats in there has a 99 flywheel and cup. Ill swap in the old 98 flywheel and cup in a few days when my puller comes in the mail.

The verdict is in (drum roll please) You guys were right, appears i had a 99 style cup on there ill get it off in a few days when my puller comes, ill post an update then.

Got the flywheel and cup swapped on the 951 and it solved the issue! Starter now cranks all day. I made sure to mark the wheel and get the pickups lined up. Im yet to start the engine (waiting on the rtv on the tune pipe to dry) but im eager to hear it later tonight or tommorow. Thank you all for helping me out with this issue. I hope this thread comes in handy for another person going through a 951 rebuild.

Good job!

Let me know if you need anything for the at WaveRunner III I'm going to be parting out a 95 here soon.
