98 Gtx Ltd carb linkage question

Hi All,
I'm just starting a tear down and rebuild of my twin mikuni carbs on my 98 gtx ltd. My question deals with the removal of the carburetor linkage, the linkage that synchronizes both throttle plates. I realize that one option is to unscrew the linkage but that would change my adjustment setting. Is there another method to remove the linkage without unscrewing it? Can it be pulled off. It looks like it may snap on and off? I dont want to break anything.

Problem solved. For those that dont know, the linkage snaps on and off the round post on the carburetor throttle plates.
