Hello, new here, introduced myself in the other topic.
Trying to troubleshoot a fuel problem with this GTX. This is a friends machine that he is letting me use if I can get it running.
Here is what I know-
Ski was running fine but low voltage warning was going off.
Running started getting progressively worse, ar first it would be hard to start after some use.
Plugs seemed to be fouling but they didn't look bad but new plugs would make it easier to start after warm
Top speed was about 56mph then dropped to 40 something and bogging at start-off.
Then it wouldn't start at all so it got left with me to fix.
Pulled the carbs and checked them over. Didn't see anything too bad. Put them back in.
Can get it to run by pumping throttle which I assume is the accelerator pump functioning.
Fuel filter located in front by selector valve does not fill up while cranking engine over.
Pulled selector valve and could pass air through all ports.
Have card kit and needles and seats coming. I suspect maybe the fuel pump diaphragm is bad.
I can feel air at pulse pump hose when I pull it.
Still has the grey fuel line, could there be a clog and still get fuel to the accelerator pump and not the fuel pump?
Also while pulling the carbs noticed that the cable to the oil pump was broke, does that leave it in and open position and gets full oil all the time? Could be the plug fouling issue. Didn't think of this before. Mixed the gas so possibly will run rich for this tank.
Search has been good but thought I'd lay it out and see what you guys have to say.
Thanks ahead of time.
Sean
