Took my newly acquired 98 GTX limited out and it cranked fine. Put it in the water, and again it cranked and idled fine in the water. When i gave it gas it would start to accelerate and when it hit about 2k it would die out. But recrank. Verified nothing was blocking the intake. Pluged up a water hose after taking it out of the water and cranked up again. And at first began to bog down as it would in the water, but finally wound out. Ran it for a couple of minutes. Noticed alot of black suit material on the ground from the exhaust. Put it back in the water still same result. Cranks right up, idles fine around 900-1000k but when you give it gas it bogs down after hitting around 2.5k.

Any help would be apreciated.:(

Are you useing BR8ES *plugs gap .021? If you have an exhaust leak in compartment it will asphyxiate the engine. These Toys need to Breath! when it starts acting up in water, try turning Fuel Selector to RES and see if that makes a diff, or pull choke. If
it does you need to do a fuel delivery clean out & carb clean or re-build. Bills86e

No I just replaced with NGK 3961 spark plugs. But after talking with some of my buddies the drew similar conclusions that the ski is starving for fuel and that I needed to clean the filter/ screen and check the carb. I will have to try your suggestions with the choke, and the fuel selector.
Thank your for your post Bills86e
