This was the first test ride after the winter, I had the tank full and stabilized, new plugs. I charged the batt and had it running on the trailer so I took it down to the water and rode it, after about 20min of running good it bogged out and died on me. I was able to start it again and then it did it again but this time I couldn't get it to start.

Any ideas? I tried to check the air silencer for blocks but I could really get to it bc of the exhaust, this is my first ski and it ran perfect all last season right up until storage no hiccups or anything. My 99 gti was stored on the same trailer in the same manner and it had no issue running and I even used it to tow the gtx back.

Help??

It sounds like it's being starved for fuel. BUT... for giggles... check the compression.

If your compression is good... I would clean the carbs, fuel valve, and filter. If you have the gray tempo fuel lines... replace them.

When I have more time I am going to go through I better. I did check the fuel filter in the from when I was out on the water and I had some sandly and gray crude in it but no enough to block it complely. I was think the fuel lines are prob clogged, just haven't had the time to get in there. Is pulpit the carbs a pain? I have the service manual and I am mechiancally able to do it if need be.

I think the fuel lines are Original, I haven't touched them and everything looks to be stock still, the guy I bought it from had I serviced and winterized by the dealer, I did not but I did spray the heads with storage oil and electric greased everything.

if they are grey they need to be replaced. the fittings where they attach to the carb and selector valve, when exposed to todays new fuels, cause them to rot and plug the inturnal carb fillters causing the exact same problem your having. and yes pull the carbs a a 951 is a pain. do-able but a pain.

How much a pain is a pain, lol. I was planning on pulling carbs first anyway. The shop manual has all the info on this I hope. Just looking at the 4th lower bolt on the exhaust looks like an ass kicker to get out

they really stuffed the 951 into those ski's the xp-l is a pain too. anyway on the ones i have done i cut an allen wrench in half to get the hard to reach bolts. it is a do-able job just take your time and do it right. and when you put the carbs back on, make sure you get the them to seel back to the intake.

I checked the lines, they are the grey tempo lines. I'm going to replace them but where do I get the new lines, will my seadoo dealer have them? Will I need to it them or get new connectors as well as the fuel lines? How much am I'm looking at for this job out of curiousity

napa, auto zone, advance, amazon, ect... there are threads here that tell how much you need and what sizes. i think ( and i would double check this if i where you.) you need about 20 foot of 1/4" line and about 3-4 foot of 5/16. again, i would recomend double checking that, or maybe someone that knows for sure will chime in. you'll also need a bunch of 1/4 inch hose clamps. total job cost would be about 50-75 bucks and an 2-3 hours of time to do it.

Also check for exhaust leaking in engine compartment. A possible cause of engine shut-down from asphyxiation.
