Hello, and thank you all that helped me unseize my engine!! Its been several years (like 7) since its been running and i no longer have the key? where do i find a replacement, are they specific to model or make? cheaper that better for me, i just dont want to buy the wrong key.

Again, thanks all.

You'll have to take it to a dealer and have an new one programmed, they should charge you between $35-50.

Go to the Dealer and buy a DESS key. Its embedded code must be inserted with the dealers programmer into one of your MPEM's open slots.
Then you can attempt a start-up.

because of my jetski's age, does it have a programmed key? i heard 'older' models dont need programming and can use a generic one..?

That's a new one on me I have 2 96's they both require a programmed key. But I've been wrong before, let me know.

Technically the ski is programmed to the key, but its really a matter of symantics.

no any dess 96 and above MUST go to a dealer to have new keys programed. unless you want to buy a computer like they have to do it yourself. last time i saw on i think it went for like $500.
