I just pulled my Seadoos out of winter storage here in the northeast. Put a new battery and plugs in my 98 GTI and made sure gas was turned on. DES beeps when lanyard is attached and engine cranks at normal speed but will not start. Plugs have spark and appears to be getting fuel. Checked MPEM fuse with ohmeter and fuse is good. This seadoo has original everything including MPEM module. Never had any kind of problem in 11 years. Does anyone have a suggestion where to go from here? Thanks in advance for any help

Solved No Start on 98 GTI

Thanks to everyone here on the forum. After reading the many posts suggesting replacement of the infamous grey fuel lines, I did just that, one a a time. The worst part of the job was removing the factory clamps-that took the longest. The trick is twist the head with a pr of pliers. After replacing the lines, success-it started and ran fine in the water for 1/2 hr then started to hesitate severely. I put it back in the garage and took apart the carb. I found the pencil eraser sized fuel filter inside the carb to be almost completely clogged-can't understand how it even ran like that. Cleaned the filter in carb cleaner with a plastic cable tie. Runs like a top now with acceleration I experienced when it was new. I then did the same maintenance on my 97 GTI which was running fine and found the filter to be virtually clean-go figure.
