What’s up guys I am new to jet skis and went out for the first time with the new to me ski and don’t know what’s goin on wit it...it’s a 98 gsx ltd so I’m told it has the 952 motor it’s carborated if anyone has any ideas what it could be it had been sitting when I bought em but starts right up after a few cranks and sounds good/revs up for the few seconds I ran it out of water but first time on the water when I hit wot it would bog out and die and didn’t really wanna accelerate also thanks for all help in advance appreciate any kind of thoughts input I’m gonna get fuel filters to start but would like to know if anyone had this before and knows what it could be (I am a auto mechanic by trade so I have general motor knowledge/can figure out how to diag things if needed)

Don’t install additional fuel filters.

You need to rebuild the carbs with genuine Mikuni parts and needles and seats. Also replace the fuel selector and fuel lines if they are gray.

Wasn’t saying add filters just replace the existing ones with new ones

You can clean the stock strainer but the square o-rings are known to leak air. I have been just replacing the entire assembly with new OEM for $27.

Yea I ordered fuel filters for the tank and the inline one and the couple fuel lines that go to the filter

There’s no filters in the tank. Only filters are the big white strainer and the little black ones inside the carbs.
