I just purchased a silver motor 951 gsx Ltd. started it quick when I bought. Owner said the carbs needed to be rebuilt. He had the rebuild kit to go with the ski. I got it home went to work rebuilt the carbs and replaced all of the gray fuel lines. Started the ski at home let it run for about 20 seconds. Took it to the water started it and was idling in the water while zipping up the life vest. Hit the throttle and it died and couldn’t get it started again. Got it home worked on getting it going. Now it will start but dies before I can even turn the hose on. Then I will get a long beep and the display shuts off until it pull the battery fuse to reset it. I’m thinking I have some carb setting issues and a possible key issue. Sorry for the long first post just wanted to get all the info out there hopefully someone can help.

Were the carb kits genuine Mikuni?

One Long beep means the MPEM doesn't recognize the lanyard.

I do not know if they were genuine Mikuni. So does that mean the lanyard is worn out or something? It will beep twice I’ll turn it over then it will do the long beep and shut everything off

Could be a weak battery basically a brown out for the MPEM.

If you don't know the quality of the carb kits assume they are junk.

Ok that makes a little more sense I think it did say 12v low. He said the rebuild kit was $200 but it also looked like it came from amazon. I’ll try to look at the package. Do you know the high speed and low speed carb settings I may not have them correct. Also low speed is on top high speed is on bottom of carb correct?

Ok I checked the voltage on the battery and it’s 12.5v without the ski running. I can start it and it runs for like 5-10 seconds then shuts off. Acting like it’s losing power. Also after trying to start it I lose power to the lanyard switch, the gauges, and the start button. I can sometime get it to work if I pull the battery fuse and put it back in but even that stops working after a little bit

Also I forgot to mention. It has the oil injection blocked off and runs off of premix. If there is no oil in the tank is there a safety switch or anything that would not allow it to run? I have searched and found nothing on this.

No, the oil is just an idiot light.

You will need to check all connections and cables. Intermittent electrical issues are the worst to try to diagnose.
