98 challenger twin motors no spark

hi, i got a 98 challenger with the twin rotax and i had it out on the weekend and it ran fine and then i went to takr it back out and the one motor wouldnt fire. I first thought it was a ignition box cause there was no spark so i swaped it with the other motor and there still was no spark and on the muiltimeter it says theres no resistance. im wonderin if its possible that the computer can cause one motor to not have spark or is the magneto gone in it???? im pullin my hair on this one im hopin someone has an idea cause i dont

It wouldn't be the first time the flywheel pick-up has come loose or a fw tooth screwed up the stator coil on a 720 motor. Bills86e

Yup... check the pick up.

BUT... if you follow the wire from the pickup to the CDI/coil unit... you will see one wire splitting off of it, going to the MPEM. Disconnect that wire, and see if you get a spark. That wire is how the MPEM kills the engine. If you get a spark, you may have a bad MPEM... if you don't get a spark, then either the coil in the Mag is bad, or the CDI is bad.

Another quick question i heard you can reset the computer?if so how could this be done?

i went to the dealer to price out the coil for the magneto and do you think its a good idea to buy just the coil or the whole unit?
