Last summer we were ridin and on of the ground cables Goin to the battery tore off (the smaller ground) so we held it to he battery and tried to get the ski to the dock after gettin it to crank a few times and limping it a few feet the battery died after changing the battery the ski wouldn't give a spark when we got it back to the house we found out the the rear electrical box was full of water and the ignition coil was burned up. I changed it with one out of my buddys xp ( same year) and still no spark where do I need to look next.

Check all your fuses and wiring first, thats free.... Im wondering if the shorting stuff out fried some other electrical components. When my machine lost spark it took a new coil and stator to get it back up to par. Sparks like a tazer now.

Well I replaced the starter relay and ignition coil and checked all the fuses and wiring and still nothing. Im guessing my next step is the stator

But the machine does roll over fine? Just no spark?

Theres ways you can kind of test stators, Not sure if I have the procedure or not. However, BOTH my seadoo (97) and my skidoo (99) needed a stator, and Ive seen it a lot. More so on the sled forum but they dont seem to last. You could try a used one, or I went with a rebuilt one from a company up here.

on the 800 engine... the pulse coil is known to break off of it's mount. What that happens... no spark.

Take the MAG cover off, and check it out.

Good memory! Ive replaced one of them before too. The new one you get from the dealer is an updated piece that is less prone to snap off from the vibrations. That happened my second year of owning the machine. Going WFO down the river and it was like hitting the kill switch. No spark. Pulled off the cover and there I found the busted pickup.
