Hey guyz..

I just went out to shop and pulled the rotary cover off the side of my motor and spun the engine over, rotary plate didn't move! I twisted the rotary shaft my hand a bit and it caught and the plate spun, and stopped spinning shortly after. It acts like a tooth or two is broken off rotary shaft.

The rotary plate looks as if something has dropped in the carb and got caught on the plate while spinning and broke the shaft because the edge of the plate is bent up a little.

I'm pretty sure that the plate is supposed to move at all times.

Is this common and how big of a job is this? I took the motor out tonight because i knew i would have to to tackle this job.

Thanks is advance!

ins0pect to see if yuo got both brass nipples protruding from rv cover, if so, then that aint the culprit, possible the skirt of piston came apart, causing the damage.

You'll need to split the case anyways to check it all out, but also need to imprevise, i used a broken front 787 mount, to rig up a rv assy puller, but need something that will go around that gear, but flat so it dont mess up the rv surface, then find a bolt to thread into the center of that gear, to create a push/pull device, to pop the rv assy out of its housing...
