97 SPX wont stay running

just bought a 97 spx, shick had roled it and now it will turn over and sometimes run for a few seconds then dies off any ideas..

has good spark

pulled the carbs off yesterday and replaced the diaphram on the fuel pump and also the black gasket as well cause it was not getting fuel now it is getting fuel.. but dying off i will pull the carbs again and go through them do you know the setting for the carbs???

high = 0mag, 1/2pto

Did you "rebuild" the carbs, or just tear apart and clean?

just cleaned them out... i had bout a new needle for the carbs in case one of them was worn out but both looked decent

alright...pull plugs, maybe water still injested in case. Pull the RAVES (black caps on motors) clean them, clip plug wires back 1/4in, at the boots ends, and install new plugs.

thanks alot they were caked with gunk i took them out n cleaned them both really good and its now will runn i think i still need to adjust the carbs a little though its ideling kinda high. should i clean the third one thats not on the engine ?

thats a water regulator...you can "unscrew" it from the waterbox, and make sure that hole aint plugged up.

If this ski, still has grey fuel lines, then i say replace those...25dollar bill...hoses/clamps.
