97 SPX motor wont turn over!

I charged my battery this spring. When I plug in the lanyard, i get two beeps but the fuel gauge does not move. At this point my trim motor does work. When i push the start button i will get nothing at some points and sometimes i just hear one long beep. the motor will not turn over and i can not hear a clicking noise at the starter/silinoid. Any clues?

sounds like you need a new battery, will it turn over with the plugs out?

Remove the battery, take it to Auto Zone and get it load tested for free.
