97 Speedster won't stay running

Both of our Rotax engines contained in this 1997 Speedster are acting exactly the same.

Both will start using some choke, run for a few seconds, and then die. During these seconds of running, if you choke it a little or goose the throttle, you can keep the motor running. I believe this is showing the carborators are able to get an adequate fuel supply and the pumps are working.

I hunted thru the forums and was not finding this specific issue. Has anyone run into this issue before and what did you need to do to fix it?

Thanks in advance for the help!
Chris

It's an engine with a choke... so manual manipulation is needed to keep them going until they are warm.

After they are worm, will they idle?

So we choke the engine and when it starts, we push it in.

It is very hard to try to time pulling the choke all the way or partway out. Either way, we are not able to get it to idle after trying for awhile and it was sort of warmed up.

Could something be plugged which has to do with the fuel mixture at idle?
