Just got my boat all set up for summer, and noticed the right side engine is loose. Seems that its loose at the bolts that hold it to the plate its bolted to.(motor mount bolts to hull, and the plate bolts to the mounts are tight) The other engine was loose a few years ago,and the guy I had doing my servicing did the repair. He actually removed it right out of the boat to tighten and re-locktite the bolts. I'm up to the chore, but do I really need to remove it entirely,or can it just be raised enough to get to the bolts? And my only issue is how to detatch the engine from the driveshaft?too bad its not as easy a unbolting u-bolts from a car, none the less,is it a major job disconnecting the driveshaft so i can just raise the motor up? Any help would be really appreciated.

The drive shaft slides out of the engine PTO. The recommended method is to remove the jet pump.

If your engine is loose, you really should check the alignment. Since the driveshaft on these boats is not designed to take a miss alignment... if it's off... you will get vibration, you can prematurely wear out the bearings in the pump, or you can strip the splines int he PTO. In the worst case, you will bend the driveshaft.

Anyway... pull the shaft, remove the plate/mount bolts, reach under the engine, and tighten them up. (put on some thread locker)
