97 Speedester Should premix and cap off oil injectors.
I have a 97 Speedester. I have had two mechanics that have told me that I might want to disconnect my old hard oil lines and cap off everything, and premix my oil. Then I was told not to do that and just replace the old oil lines with new ones.
So I think I will use less oil if I keep using oil injection but have been told my motors are good and that it is easy to burn them up with a bad oil injector or a bad oil line. So I thought I would ask the group their thoughts on this.
Thanks for your feedback.

Bond, James Bond......the conventional wisdom IS.....there is nothing inherently wrong with the Seedoo oil injection systems...the systems are robust and should not be disconnected willy nilly. Of course, oil pumps can fail but that is the chance you take with ANY combustion engine. Change the oil lines though....they do dry out over time and can crack & leak, so at least do that.....3/32" Tygon lines should do the trick. Make sure your oil tank is not leaking (grommets leak over time).

The oil injection system meters oil usage based on the demands of the engine usage....so going to a pre-mix situation eliminates all that metering so you just end up using MORE oil than necessary and it is "virtually" impossible to maintain the correct ratio (oil/fuel) with gas fill ups and dumping oil into the gas tank, etc.....

Personally, keep the oil system as designed.....that is MHO ['96 GTX]!
