Hi just bought my first seadoo challenger.. And I've had nothing but trouble with it! First time I took it out I could only get one motor running. So I just loaded it back on the trailer.. Took it back home and found out that one of the coils where bad.. Ordered a replacement and installed it.. Had both Moros running!!! But the right side motor was smoking.. And the left side would only run at 3k and died if you gave it gas... So I put it in the shop and they said carb needed to be rebuilt.. Told them fine go ahead and do it.. Well 1 month went buy and I called up there and they said that one motor was good to go but they had to do the timing on the other... I said ok do it... So 2 months go buy and I call up there again and now he tells me both my motors are blown! He only charged me for the parts he had in it so I payed the guy and got the boat back.. Get home and my air boxes are still off and I can see the carbs are full of water!!! Pulled the plugs and the cylinders are full of water! Mind you he had my boat 3 months and it had been raining almost everyday for the past 2 months! So I turn over the motor with the plugs out and clear out all the water.. Took 2 days but got the rights side motor running again.. And that was the hard one to start before! Now I've been trying to get the right side running again and have had no luck! Looks like there is a lot of oil and water in the cylinder still..

What else should I try? Or could I try? Or does anybody live in or near Dallas tx that could help me out?

Yea man I don't no about this one....tuff call cause you don't know how long that water was sitting in there...if you plan on keeping the boat for a long period of time or want to be worry free go with some new motors from sbt...

Yeah, can't say how much life will be in those engines. Best route is trying to get rebuilt engines. Then rebuild the carbs, again. And with all of us here, help you dial it in. Best of luck and if you haven't ever owned a boat before it's gonna get tough before it gets better. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

I live in Waxahachie Texas not sure what part of Dallas you live in if you need some help I can come by or try to help you out on the phone.

Well I got both motors running again.. I need to replace or rebuild one of them.. Pretty sure the crank seal is bad.. I actually live in Grand Prairie, tx in between Dallas and forth worth.. After I save up some cash for a new motor I'm sure I'll take up up on the help offer..

Dirty,

Yea I know where that is. I go there quite a lot for stuff. If I'm home from work I will help you when you want. I work 35 & 35 in Saudi Arabia. I vote for replace if you are going to do the work yourself? cost from SBT is $900-$1200.00 if you get the 2 year warranty with it.

Ok so an update.... Fixed the port side motor and got it running good.. The starboard side motor had a blown crank seal so I just replaced that motor with a remanufactured motor from SBT.

So now the starboard side motor won't rev past 3500. Little hard to start but sounds good when running and idles fine. But If I give it throttle it will stall out. The port side motor is fine shoots right up to 7k. Just had all the carbs rebuilt about 2 months ago. I'm starting to wonder if I got the timing a little off when I put the rotary vavle in.

Ok got that figured out... On if the hoses on the mag side carb had a big tare in it! Fixed and took it out to day and it ran like a champ for about an hour.. Now neither motor will start
