I will try and get the whole story in here. I have someone who has me take care of his skis, he wants to sell them this year and asks me to get them running after the winter storage. One fires right up, the other however wouldn't crank. I threw a new solenoid on it and got it running. I took a video of it running for him. His battery was weak and he was going to charge it himself. A couple days later he calls and says it is dead. Apparently his son and friend couldn't get it going. He drops it back off and the first thing I notice is the battery hooked up backwards. I correct that and the doo is still dead. My suspicion os they hooked it up backward and then tried to boost or jump it. Look further and find the mpem fuse blown, throw a new fus in and it pops right away. Go to ebay and get a used oem mpem that I confirmed came from a running ski. Pop it in, get the beeps, cranks, but no spark. Coil was out of spec a bit, so I threw a new one in. Still no spark. Spark plug caps tested good, and the trigger coil spec'ed good at 240 ohms. I didn't pull the cover only because it tested good, nor did I check for a pulse on the wire to the coil. I have read the cdi portion of the mpem isn't too prone to failure. I am at my wits end with this thing. Everything seems to test fine according to the manual.
