97 GTX no spark

I have this 97 GTX I was given and went to try to start for the first time this season and nothing happens. So here's what I've done. Battery was dead and wouldn't take a charge so we replaced it. Starter wouldn't crank so did some testing, found signal to starter relay but not working so I have one coming. I can jump the relay and it cranks over good but doesn't have spark. I tested for power at coil and no power when cranking.
A little history. The last time it was ran last summer my son-in -law rolled it over several times and the instrument cluster got wet inside and quit working. But it still ran ok. So with a new battery, jumping the relay it cranks but no spark. There is power to the relay, but no power to the coil. Where to check next?

Have you gone into the MPEM and checked all the fuses? Is everything dried out? Sounds like you've got a grounding or connectivity problem caused by it getting wet or corrosion. I'd unplug stuff everywhere and check the connections. Since it was last Summer corrosion may have set in. BTW - That's impressive for someone roll a GTX several times.

When you push the start button a coupe times with the lanyard removed do the gauges come on?

Check the rear ebox for corrosion. It’s lower and gets water in it much easier than the gray front box.

I checked the fuses in the MPEM and they are good. I checked connections and so far haven't found any dirty or corroded. I haven't tried pushing the start button with the lanyard removed, but since the ski was upside down in the water the gauges and instrument cluster are dead. That happened last time out last summer.

I did check the black box in the rear and it had water in it. That's where the starter relay/solenoid is located. When testing the solenoid I get power from the starter switch when the lanyard is connected. No power when its off. But I don't get any power to the coil with the lanyard connected.
