Flowmaster, I had the same problem with my 96 GTX (same machine) could not get it to hook up wright, changed prop, wear ring, bearings in pump resealed to the hull 3 or 4 times change the carbon disc twice! I was at my wits end! my 97 GTI performed better on all levels, they have the same hull but the GTI has a smaller motor. I was sitting with my brother in the garage, just ready to blow this POS up, I kicked the drive shaft by accident and it wobbled down the garage! The drive shaft was warped! I picked up a used one from a local repair shop, Installed it with a new carbon seal (explains why the carbon seals were cracking) and BAM!! From 43mph to 54mph!! and it hooked up nice! Took off like a bate out of hell! This was kicking my butt for a year!

Thanks Sea Monster, I don't believe my drive shaft is warped though, I looked at that while I had it apart, and I have a decent top speed, and no breaking of the carbon seal like you mentioned. Did yours have a bad vibration from that shaft being warped like that?
