I need to change the inline oil filter and thought i would change the lines while I'm at it (lines are original). I've read the manual and see it needs to be bleed after changing. Is this an easy task and does the engine have to run while it's bleed?

Any instructions from someone who has done this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

What lines you going to replace the small little ones or the just the big one the filter is hooked up too? Depending on what one depends on how much you have to bleed and how you bleed it.

Just the big one with the filter between the oil reservoir and the injection pump. Do the others need replacing as well?

Thanks

Those little ones are notorious for cracking and destroying our engines.

Replace them all.

Bleeding isnt too difficult but it can be a bit messy if you arent careful.

Sometimes even if you ARE careful...

Thanks Scooper. Are the little ones you are referring to the ones that attach near the cable on the front of the pump?

Yes. The tiny two that come from the oil injection pump to the carbs. When they crack you lose all injected oil to that cylinder and the motor runs about five more seconds then locks up.

So swap them while youre at it. Most guys replace them every other year or so.
