I just purchased this ski and the guy replaced the complete pump last year,he said it was a rebuilt pump(dealer told him this),he did the work himself and said it ran great, after i purchased the ski i headed to the river but stopped home to go over everything and after that was i a little pi$$ed.start, runs and looks great and the hole shot/take off is very disappointing, top end is fine,i called him and he said it ran fine,"feels like it has a stall speed converter or the clutch is slipping"need help it is getting warmer

Chances are... it's sucking water past the carbon seal. Put a small amount of grease on the face of the seal. If that helps... then replace the boot, carbon ring, and the O-rings in the stainless ring.

sounds like cavitation, did you check the intake grate/impeller for foreign matter? look the pump/wear ring/impeller area over very closely, also look at the clearance between the impeller and wear ring.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, pump repairs are simple and not too expensive even if there is a problem. Not worth getting peaved over, imo, but you should ride something before buying, but I'm sure you realize this now.

in the engine compartment, where the driveshaft exits the hull, you'll see a black rubber boot that is clamped on to the carbon seal that rides against the rotating metal collar on the driveshaft.

I will try the grease,i was also given the old pump with the purchase,i could always rebuild that one with a new wear ring and impeller,i can seelight thru the wear ring and impeller when i shine a flashlight thru the intake grate

Also... on some of the driveshafts, there is more than one clip groove. slide the stainless ring forward, and check. if you do... put the clip in the next groove. It will put more pressure on the seal.

This may help.....
