97 GTI four beeps?

Backstory…my 97 gti started not recognizing the key, it was a bad mpem. I replaced it and all was well. 8 or so hours of run time later, it died on the water. When I tried to start it got two beeps like normal then a few seconds later 4 beeps. Get it home, inspect all fuses on mpem and back relay box…all good. Starts and runs fine, charging battery….still gives four beeps? The only thing I could find here related to the relay in the back bix but mine seems to be working. ????

There are 4 beeps, then there are 4 beeps. LOL Sounds funny. If you get 2 beeps then 4 longer beeps shortly after.... you have the problem because the ski won't start. I sometimes run into this with a low battery or just plugging a battery into a ski. I don't know if it takes a minute to get all the wires with electricity but I had 2 skis that did this.

The 2003-2005-ish GTI models give 4 short beeps when the key is left inserted into the DESS post and the engine is not running. Just a reminder to aggravate the owner. LOL
