Hello all. I have had watercraft most of my life. Fairly new to seadoo. My 97 GTI just started cavatating. The odd thing to me is it seems to cavatste at quarter throttle. Then catches up to itself. Only does this from a stop. If the boat is moving you can be on and off the throttle no problem. Wear ring? Carbon ring ? Both? Thank you any input would be greatly appreciated

The wear ring is the most likely culprit, but it’s possible that it could be the carbon seal. Get under it with a flashlight and take a look at the back side of the impeller/wear ring. You’ll know pretty quickly if it’s in good shape...

Did you look up inside the jet intake to see if a stick or something similar was pulled in and locked itself onto the impeller? Are the leading edges of the impeller damaged from rocks?

One of my GTI's was doing the same thing a few weeks ago, water in the hull. was the carbon seal.
There was some water in the hull. Didnt think much about it as the were riding in pretty decent chop between the wind and the wake boats

Thank you for the input. I have been wanting to put a solas on anyway so while it's that far down I will do the Carbon seal as well.

On a stock ski there is no reason really to change the impeller, seadoo did a really good job selecting them.

Don't expect much if any difference from the Solas. IF your stock impeller is trashed then Solas is a good option.
