Hi All,
Still ploughing through my jet ski trying to get it all working and my latest question is an easy one for you guys...... The warning bleeper has never really been right as it sometimes "clicks" instead of "bleeps". After pricing a genuine one and finding out it was over £60, I obviously decided to fit a non-standard one. After looking through a load of previous postings on the forum, it turns out that a few of you have got a replacement buzzer from Radio Shack. As we don't have Radio Shack over here I have found one that I think will do the job. Its a 12 Volt 10 mA. Is that the correct one or do i need one with more or less mA? I would like it to sound the same as the original if possible. Thanks in anticipation Guys. Dont know what I would do without you!! You all do great work. Cheers, Steve

Sound...?

It may be hard to match the original sound. You might have to buy a couple before you find it. But, for the prices they wanted for the original, you could buy 20 and still be in the green.

Most just look for the 12 volt type beeper, buzzer or light. You don't have to have a beeper but it's nice to know that you do if there is a problem with the cooling system.

Bleep.......

Thanx Mate,
I assume the two wires going to the bleeper are just a live and an earth? Is it a constant 12 volt supply and a switched Earth? Steve

12 volts...

In this application, I don't think it matters which wire is where. It's just a standard 12 volt. If you were wiring a motor, then the polarity would matter to make sure it turned the correct way. But, for just a light or beeper, it should make any difference.

thanx....

Man, I only make up a small fraction of our members who are here that could have given you the same answer. Our forum is loaded with great mechanics. You can easily tell when one shows up in your thread by the little green circles under their name in the avatar. That's considered their reputation points.

Should be an easy fix. Remember, you can usually find all you need without going name brand. There are a few things you might have to buy from BRP, but for the everyday stuff, it's pretty easy to find a replacement without breaking the bank..........

Beeper

SNIPE is correct but just for the record.... the ski pulses the 12v to the buzzer and it has a constant ground.
DAWG

Constant Earth???

Thanx Guys.... Hope it is just the buzzer Dennis cos mine has got a constant live feed to it, and thats why I thought it must be a pulsed earth?? Bugger... Hey ho. Got a new buzzer today so will hopefully find out soon... maybe its more "Electrickery" as I like to call it. Hehe.... I will let you know how it goes. thanks again. Steve
