So after my voltage issue it runs pretty good
But top gps speed was 49mph to 50mph at 5800 rpm
New wear ring is done
150 psi both cylinders

Not sure if i have the rpm gauge setup correctly i set it for 2 sparks per revolution. 1 spark was way high.

I think you're running slow, both on RPM and MPH. If you have a pristine engine and pump, you should be able to get around 56-59mph, and I would expect around 6500-7000 RPM, but I've never owned that ski (yet).

Can you try disconnecting the red cable for the regulator and doing another test? I think your regulator is still running high (from the other post), and that will let you know if you're still being limited by the regulator.

Sea-Doo XP - Wikipedia

P.S. with the red wire disconnected, the 12V battery will no longer be getting charged, so don't drive around too long or you could end up stranded with a dead battery.

Yeah, you are missing a little speed and RPMs. How’s the raves and water valve?

I also agree about checking the rectifier. From your other post. Your voltage should not keep climbing like that.

Ok, I guess check the raves for carbon,
what do I check on the water valve? I saw it was a little wet underneath
Is there a rectifier to buy or not to buy?

If you have water under it, the bellows could have a hole in it and therefore leaking and not closing the valve enough as the RPMs increase to let the pipe dry enough for full rpms. Check the bellows for holes, cracks, Rips, etc. it is common for the clamp to wear a hole in the bellows.

The rectifier you need is 278000443. Seadoowarehouse doesn't carry it. You can either buy OEM (around $85), or some people have luck with this aftermarket one: Amazon.com: SeaDoo Voltage Regulator Rectifier (Replaces/Compatible With Sea-Doo # 278000443): Automotive for $19. However, there are a number of reviews that say the part was defective, so you may wish to go OEM. The aftermarket worked for me. The OEM one is hard to find, but osdparts.com has it in stock.

You can figure out if your rectifier is the fault, though. All you have to do is disconnect the red wire from the rectifier, and it no longer has any impact on your sea doo. If you test and it runs better without the rectifier, you know for sure that your rectifier is at fault. See the video in your other post for pictures and details of exactly how to do that.

A little bit of water at the bottom of the sea doo is normal. Water can splash in the air intakes, etc, and the bailers will get most out, but not every last drop.

You're getting close. Good luck!

FYI, looks like 14.6V is the expected voltage for the OEM rectifier:

The above chat is quite interesting. There's speculation as to what makes these fail so often, etc. It seems many of them fail quickly, even the OEM part. Some people have resoldered connections on the MOSFET ones, which generate a lot less heat, provide a more stable output voltage, and don't fail as fast.

What are you gapping your plugs at?
NGK-BR8ES only on these skis
Gap should be at .24 thousands
Technically, .20-.24 respectively.

Ill check the plugs and gap
The kid i bought the ski from only could drive them not fix them if you know what i mean.
Also i forgot to put that vent tube piece under the seat
So i dont know if that would effect that.

Yeah, put it back on. Ventilation is critical.

Gaps were .035 so I closed them up.
on the water valve I see there is a factory hole in the bellows, and saw another post when someone put silicone on that.
any suggestions?
When I took it apart there was water under the cap.
Cleaned it out had some rust residue there is a rusty wire on the bottom holding the rubber, I guess they couldn't find stainless steel wire in Canada.
Ill test it out later this week.

Factory hole in the bellows? I don’t think there is such a thing. There should not be a hole and the fact there was water under the cap shows you have a leak. That rusty clamp probably wore the hole in the bellows. That is the common culprit.

Post a pic.

You shouldn’t have any holes in the bellows.
Also your voltage should not be up at 14.5 volts.

Here the water billow im waiting on new ones so ill try silicone.

Looks pretty typical of a bad one. That ring is the only non-stainless thing seadoo used and no clue why they were so dumb.

Are all the billows the same on the water and rave?
I don't see the bellow for the water valve on the parts page
What is the difference in 5858 and 5859?

No it’s not the same.

It’s on the parts diagram under cooling system.

Dealer Price: $40.99

Speed is on the lows side but not bad. I'd be looking for about 6800rpm on the tach. Is your inpeller stock?

My XP runs a reliable 55mph but hit 57. :) I'm having a surge at wide open throttle... just a bit. :) I'm hoping for 57 steady. LOL We probably both have some tweaking to do. :) Good Luck !!
