Hey Guys,

My x4 has been sitting for almost a year and finally decided to take it out.

Fresh fuel, new plugs, new battery and only getting 1 beep with the lanyard attached. Press the starter button and 1 beep again.

I cleaned the post and key, no change

Tested the post wires and get an open connection from black wires and get resistance after key is attached.

Put the boat in diagnostic mode and get 2 short beeps.

I am pulling my hair out. It ran perfect right before I put it in the garage. How does this just happen?

Any ideas?

1 long beep is no communication to MPEM.

When in advanced diag you'll get 1 short then 1 long beep letting you know your in advanced diag. From there plug the dess lanyard on, try and start it. If the system recognizes everything it should not beep anymore and should try and start. If you're getting 2 short beeps it's the post or lanyard. Perform lanyard continuity test (as you have). If it's 2 long beeps it wrong lanyard or bad post wiring (possible short in wiring). Just remember go into advanced diag without the lanyard on the post.

Here's the codes in this post

I'd verify the post 100% first. Minnetonka4me here can get you set up with a new lanyard and what not. He can probably verify your post too. Just remove that MPEM and post and your lanyard and ship it to him. Send him a PM.
