Looking for some help. Got a 96 XP. Get 2 beeps when lanyard when plugged in. Can jump solenoid posts and starter works. Push start/stop button and nothing. Checked button and it seems fine. Have no voltage coming out of Yellow/Red wire. Have tried another MPEM and no change. All fuses are good.
Are there any other reasons why I'm not getting 12v?

My guess is the ground from rear box is loose or not connected. Bill

May be a bad battery negative cable, jumper neg post to engine.

I have checked my voltage at the MPEM and it drops to 8v. Is this normal? I got 12volts to the MPEM and them 8volts throughout. I will check the ground to see if it has issues.

magnito pulse?

Do you have good female fuse holder in rear box 7.5amp & 15amp? These are
subject to water intrusion, so is the coil.

Yea all fuses are good and seem to have good connections. I ran a jumper from the neg battery to the MPEM ground and managed to read 12 volts throughout which is good but still no 12 volts out of the yellow/red wire.

The magnito must be turning to create the A/C voltage. The Rectifier changes the
waveform to DC current. DC is used by mpem and excess recharges the battery If needed.

Having had a similar problem like this myself just yesterday. I would suggest that you recheck all the electrical connections. That is make sure if you are plugging a yellow/red line with a black that it connects to a yellow/red line and a black. Good Luck

Okay found problems and wanted to share!!
First of all the MPEM was bad. This is why there was no 12 volts coming out of the yellow/red wire to the soleniod relay. When you hit the start/stop button you should have 12 volts to activate the relay. I believe the reason the MPEM went was either boosting with a running vehicle or because the solenoid was bad. The solenoid is bad and it will try to turn the motor but makes some serious buzzing. Also the connection to the solenoid was loose which was what really threw me for a loop. So with a new MPEM and a new solenoid all is good in the world today!!!
Thanks to all who replied!!!
