Someone contacted me about a seadoo spx they wanted to get rid of, long story short I bout it for 325 dollars, I cant believe this but this is now my 7th ski to rebuild and flip, I will be posting some updates on this restoration.

Diagnosis:
Its not locked up, had a little bit of oil in the cylinders, but its been sitting for 7+ years so I think thats acceptable since oil can slowly get past the crank seals over time. Has good compression around 140 each cylinder.
It turns over slowly and I'm thinking the ground cable is bad and getting a weak connection because I load tested the battery that I had and it tested fine, might be starter but maybe not, going to order a starter rebuild kit anyway. Its in okay cosmetic condition but has lots of mold on it, also going to check for spark tomorrow because it won't fire even with gas in the cylinders
More updates tomorrow

Update:
Tore it down all the way to crank case today while in the ski, sucked up all the oil, and put it all back together and it started up, going to rebuild carbs, replace all the gaskets because previous owner put gasket maker on every single gasket and its all gooped on their.

Yep, some people people just bubble gum and duct tape these back together and say, "runs great!!".

Yeah I agree, and the funny thing is that the ski has been rebuilt before but they only replaced one piston, so most likely going to rebuild it with 2 matched pistons.

Did a little buffing today, used some heavy duty gel coat compound then maguire compound then put a layer of wax on it, shined up pretty good, picture doesn't show the full affect but still looks good

Resurrected and ready to ride. I had one just like it that I fixed up sooooo sweet. I was keeping for me but I sold it. Can't keep them all but I like the smaller skis.
