I have a 96 spx that wont start, after changing the rectifier and solenoid, it had started before, today put in a fresh battery and it had started but then idled weird and their was no throttle after that it didn't want too. Also a low voltage light on. New top end and carb rebuilt. Starter going out ?

Did you check that the stator is charging?,,,
the "fresh",,battery,,,has it been load tested?

The battery has not been load tested, but I load tested a different battery i used on the ski and volts were dropping below 10 when cranking. How do i check for stator charge? can it affect why it isn't starting ?

Check battery cables and connections.
All of my grounds and connections are tight, Would their be a possibility that the stator or ignition coil is going out, If I let it stand for a day and try starting it will almost start and after cranking it doesn't want too. I've been reading forums and I'm leaning towards my stator or coil is out.

I took the magneto connecter and grabbed my multimeter, and touched to yellow/ yelow black wire and tested the ohms and was getting 0.0 or 0.1. Is it a bad stator, before i buy it what red and black wire do i disconnect from the mpem?

A failed stator should not prevent it from starting,,,but will make run badly,
,,assuming you have a load tested battery,,do you have a good bright spark? If you put some premix into the cylinders will it fire up? How is the compression?
