Riding the ski today then... nothing.... just quit. No electrics. Got home, battery fried. 5 amp fuse blown. Everything looked OK so I replaced the fuse and installed a new battery. Thought I had it so I buttoned it up. Tried it... then nothing. 5 amp fuse blown. I am going to chase down some things. I just read a thread that said it may be the solenoid. The last couple days, I had to hit the start button a few times to get it to start. Ski was running great... then BAM. Not sure if the battery fried anything or everything. I could use some help on places to start. I"m going to check the switches, solenoid, and whatever else the book says to check.

Happy Father's day to me. :D :D Help is apprecaited.

If the wires to the battery shorted... or you hooked it up backwards... you burnt out the power diode in the MPEM. when that goes bad... the 5 amp fuse blows.

After testing looks like the Electronic Module is bad. I want to check the charging system to make sure it doesn't repeat when I replace the module. Man that baby was running great too. Not even a sputter just DOA, no poof.... click nothing.

I sure hope that's all it is. I was riding the ski when it died. No indication of anything amiss. I had a couple of issues last week when I was starting the ski. I had to hit the start button a couple of times before it turned over. I guess that was the battery failing. Only a year old and it wasn't a cheap battery. I bought a battery a couple of months ago that was bad right out of the box. $90 AGM. Product quality is pitiful.

I read about a fix for these MPEMs and changing out a diode. I don't have the proper equipment but I am curious about it. I am gonna replace the module but I'd like to get the ski running ASAP

I am searching the forum but I need some help in locating the diode on the MPEM and a part number or information so I can get the proper diode for the replacement. Help is appreciated. I had to tow the ski a couple of miles. we went slow but I'm not sure if water got in the engine. I'd like to get it going quickly which will make me feel much better. :)
