ok guys i am rebuilding the top end.... i have exhaust, air intake, and cylinders off, but i cannot get these freakin piston pins out... please give me some kind of advice... i do not want to have to get a piston pin puller, but damn these guys are tough... i've taken the circlip off by the way... somebody said get a nut and bolt and top it out with a hammer but there is no room to do this with both pistons still attached... should i take off the circlip towrad the middle of pistons and try to push it inward toward the other piston bc right now i am trying to push it away from the other piston and there is only about 3 or 4 inches between the two....

009.jpg009.jpgTake a bolt that will fit thru the pin. Put nut on othe side. Attach vise grips to bolt and tap out with hammer. Super easy. Put cloth at base of rod to catch needle bearings

thank you sir... i did something simliar... nut, bolt, and 3 inch pipe and just tightened bolt an nut and pulled pin into pipe... got 34 needle bearings.... :) So now let me pick your brain on the reinstall.... im going to send it to Full Bore and have them get me right.... how hard is this reinstall going to be... my main concern is with the needle bearings, the two bigger rings that also came out, and the circlips.... how is all this going to go back in? especially the needle bearings? and the circlips? how does this pin get pushed back in? hammer w/ a loving tap?lol... i gotta a little while to rehearse this in my head until full bore returns my stuff (which wont be sent until tuesday). Any advice/ reassurance is greatly appreciated.... i got pictures of the cylinders and pistons by thee way, i just am not sure how to attach them in the post...

Your piston kit should come with all new parts. The new bearings are different and all one unit you just slide it in. Just put in your c clip on back side of piston while it's out. Slide your new pin in put other clip on. Super easy. Just be careful when putting jug back on over the new piston rings. They can be tricky and you will snap one easily. I know cuz I did.
Your kit does have all new parts?

ya, im hoping full bore sends me all new stuff, i imagine they would, right? i am calling on tuesday to get it all set up and sent off... when putting this stuff back together should i use a little oil to lubricate the parts ? also i was reading the manual and it talks about putting the bolts back in to a certain spec/ tightness... i should probably follow these directions right (which means i gotta get a torque wrench, no prob though)... also also what about the first few times i run the engine, is there any thing i do/ look out for? it is a twin engine and im only rebuilding 1 engine. thanks for all the info, very helpful.... these hopefully will be my last questions, but i cant promise that. lol

Lol @ Jake
Yea lube parts with some oil and torque back to specs and sequence. Break it in easy for a tank. It goes back together as easy as it came apart.

WOW Phildoo, That is above and beyond the call of duty. Not everybody would run out and tear their top end off to take a picture for somebody!!!

I'll say ... REP to Phildoo!! Have you got your boat working now btw??
