Dr Honda Well-Known Member Jul 24, 2011 #2 Put a meter on the battery, and hit the starter. If it holds more than 11.5v, then you have a bad stater, or the wires are corroded/loose. Just because a battery "Has a charge" doesn't mean it's good.

M mattry New Member Jul 25, 2011 #4 check if the ground is loose. tap the started with a metal object.. one way to know if you starter is bad is to jump it, as in run the hot to the starter
