96 GTX Battery/Starter/Electrical Help

Hello all,

Looking for some help with my 96 GTX. Ran great all summer. Last run out, noticed the "12V Low" in the info gauge when starter button was engaged and starting was sluggish but it started.

Went to winterize and now all I get is a click back by the battery when the starter button is pushed. Charged the battery, same result. Used a known good battery, same result. Used a brand new battery, same result. (Click and "12V Low" in the info gauge display)

I should add that the flywheel and such turns fine by hand.

Am I correct in saying that as long as I hear the click, the relay is good? Is this likely a bad starter?
Or, there are other posts that say that if it's one solid click or thud, which it is, the relay is bad.

Any help would be appreciated. I need to get it started so I can winterize it. Thanks!

Jump across the start solenoid. Check the extra small ground that goes from the battery into the rear junction box and to the ground point at the bottom of a coil

Check all your connections and grounds in the rear electrical box,,,water can get trapped in there and corrode the connections,,,did you do a load test on the battery?,,your initial voltage should be around 12.6V.

There was only one connection...on the coil... that looked like it might be corroded so I'll clean that up. Everything else looks good. I haven't load tested the battery. My voltmeter can't do that I don't think. Autozone or OReilly?

Regarding that box, remove the top plug, check the male and female sides, use a thin screw
driver to pry off the male cap connector. In the box, remove the fuse connectors, look there for corrosion...check the connections to the selenoid..check the ground connector that goes from that box to the negative of the battery,,,Just go out and buy a load tester, if you own any boat or ski you will need it.,,you can buy a new battery that has a bad cell and will not properly pass a load test...Make sure to check the front mag plug, both sides, those pins can get corroded over time when water gets trapped?...
