Confusing, I see the parts manual for the GTI lists the 271 000 470 for 1996 (same p/n for 98 GTS) with the 11/22 pitch. Did you see it in the service manual?
Yes, at the very end where it lists the technical data for each model.
I've restored a lot of Seadoo Jet skis. 717's don't go 50mph unless it is in a smaller 2-seat ski. To run 50mph in a larger 3-seater hull you need the 787.Spot on. One reason I sold my 99 GTI was because it was too slow and turned like a pregnant whale although rode like a Cadillac. Then I bought a 96 SPX and my mind was blown. Now that's a fun ski.I haven't ridden a 717 Carb GTI yet that goes over 46mph on the GPS. Great skis and a lot of fun. My cousin had a GTS which was a very dependable smooth running ski. He said GTS stands for "goes too slow."
I like the GS with the 717. A bit more stable than the X4 hulls and still lots of fun. Yep once you ride a hull that handles you don't want anything less. I like the 1996-2002 GTX hulls.
Next on my list is a GTX. The 787 in the XP was another step up from the 717 SPX for me, tons of power to rip you out of the hole.
