So I rebuilt the carbs on both my 97 GTX and 96 GSX (genuine Mikuni kits). The GTX runs flawlessly. The GSX though has a little hesitation at 2500rpm. This only happens if I instantly pull the throttle wide open. If ease into it like normal it’s completely fine. One thing to note is the mag carb on the GSX has a super tiny leak on the check valves. Goes from about 15 to 14 psi in 30 seconds. I heard some people say a tiny leak is acceptable while others said no leak is acceptable. The low screws are set to one turn out. And the mag side High is at zero. And the PTO is turned as much as the plastic cap allows. Probably like a 1/4 turn. When I first ran it I didn’t notice any hesitation but maybe that’s because I wasn’t looking for it as I wanted to get it nice and hot to see how it actually performs. After I let it sit for a bit it was way harder to start than it should’ve been. I ended up looking at the plugs and they both looked identical to the ones on the GTX. Mag side darker and PTO lighter. Any ideas?
