96 Challenger Sound System

I am looking at installing a stereo into my challenger, I am wanting to just use two speakers and a deck. Has anyone just installed two speakers? I just want music when we have the boat anchored up. I have been looking at Overtons and some other places for pricing on the combo units (deck and speakers). Is this wise, or do I really need four speakers? I do not need the system on when I am running around as it would need to be really loud as you all know. So, does anyone know of a good package system that can be installed?

Most of these Seadoos come with only two speakers. They use poor quality stuff from the factory. You can get decent sound with just two quality speakers but if you really enjoy music four is much better. Its really a matter of what your expectations are. For some Two speakers are fine while some require amps, subwoofers, multiple speakers and tweeters etc.......

Buy two quality speakers and a good head unit and grow it as you see fit.

/agreed, start small and you can always expand.

A marjority of your money should go into your head unit, as it is the main source for all of your enjoying pleasures, and then work from there. Look for a good unit that can provide for future expansion if you know for sure you're going to need it, if not, then don't worry about it and just buy one that can supply enough juice for what you're looking for.
