hey i have a 96 seadoo challenger with a 787 engine and just had the whole thing redone and come to find out the mpem is bad... so i checked here on some forums and found you can use a msd 4255 enhancer instead of the mpem... now for the question... how the hell do you hook it up i have looked at wiring diagrams from both the boat and the msd box and still dont get it idk if im just dumb or what but has anyone done this and if so do you have any pics or advice on how to hook this up before something gets messed up and waste $200 on a box. ive looked for a mpem and have had no luck i feel this is my only option and ANYTHING would be helpful thanks

Yes... on the 800 engine, MSD built a standalone unit to run that engine. Off the top of my head, I don't recall the part number... but if you find one, it will bypass the MPEM totally. It will hook to your coil, lanyard post, battery, and starter solenoid.

Also... as I recall, it will bypass your CDI too.

The lanyard will still work, but the chip in the lanyard will be bypassed… so you won’t have the MPEM security with the MSD unit.
